This pop-up exhibition showcased works from Madeleine’s month-long residency at Listastofan in July 2019. Continuing work on her series “Private Life” and “Friends + Lovers”, Dietrich created over 30 paintings and portraits influenced by both the landscape and individuals in Reykjavík.
Using their creative practice to expand on a personal narrative, Dietrich incorporates elements of the landscape around her in her abstract paintings. The photography-based portraits explore the unique expression of each individual’s persona and sexuality. Both series explore intimacy and the relationship between artist and subject.
